The Survey and Land Registration Bureau Participates in Youth City 2030 with a Specialized Training Program in Surveying Engineering and Geospatial Data

The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) is participating in the Youth City 2030 program, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in collaboration with its strategic partner, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), as part of national initiatives aimed at empowering Bahraini youth. These initiatives are supported and championed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. As part of its participation, the Bureau is delivering a specialized training program titled "Surveying Engineering and Geospatial Data", benefiting 25 participants aged between 15 and 30 years. The program aims to introduce participants to modern surveying technologies and geospatial information, while enhancing their practical skills in one of the key sectors supporting digital transformation and sustainable development.

On this occasion, H.E. Eng. Bassem bin Yaqoob Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, stated that the Bureau’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting national initiatives focused on preparing qualified Bahraini talent. He noted that the program provides young people with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the latest technologies in surveying and geospatial data, enhancing their readiness for future careers and contributing to the development of highly skilled national competencies that support Bahrain’s development sectors.

He added that geospatial data has become a fundamental element in supporting urban planning, infrastructure management, improving the efficiency of government services, and enabling data-driven decision-making. He emphasized the Bureau’s commitment to transferring its practical expertise to young people and strengthening their capabilities in this rapidly evolving field.

The training program is delivered over four days, totaling 16 training hours, and combines both theoretical and practical components. Participants embark on a comprehensive learning journey covering the fundamentals of surveying engineering and geospatial data, field surveying and observation techniques using advanced equipment, as well as data processing, analysis, digital map production, and the practical use of geospatial information to support planning and decision-making.

The program also includes hands-on training in the use of surveying equipment such as GPS RTK and Total Station, in addition to introducing participants to the latest technologies in the geospatial information sector, including Mobile Mapping, Street View, and Artificial Intelligence applications. This provides participants with a practical experience that simulates real work environments and reflects the latest international practices in the field.

In addition, the program includes a field visit to the headquarters of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, where participants will explore the Bureau’s working environment, geospatial information systems, and its key national projects and digital platforms. The visit offers an opportunity to gain practical insight into geospatial technologies and their role in supporting various development sectors.
