President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau

Eng. Basim bin Yacob Al Hamer

It is my pleasure to welcome all visitors to the newly developed website of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau. Through this platform, we aspire to be a trusted reference for accessing the latest real estate data and information, and an interactive space accessible to all for benefiting from our services and following our news. We greatly value your fruitful communication with us through various channels and your suggestions to help us improve what we offer.

For over a century—since its early beginnings in 1924 under the name "Tabu Department"—the Bureau has been the foundation of land ownership documentation and regulation in Bahrain. Later known as the "Survey and Land Registration Bureau," it has taken significant strides in developing its reliable services and products, meeting the evolving needs of each era and overcoming its challenges. Our accumulated expertise has strengthened our position as a trusted government authority for providing national data and safeguarding landowners’ rights and property.

Today, as we enter a new era of development and pursue our ambitious strategic goals, we are committed to keeping pace with digital transformation and leveraging the latest in artificial intelligence technologies. We have evolved our strategy to continue this historic journey, which reflects our deep commitment since the Bureau’s inception to continuously enhance and advance our services. Our objectives are built around four core pillars: developing a reliable national data system, providing high-quality services and products, strengthening effective partnerships with our public and private sector partners, and achieving institutional excellence—aligned with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Action Plan 2023–2026.

Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to creating an attractive investment environment based on delivering competitive, high-quality government services that meet the expectations and needs of users across all segments. This will be accomplished through the implementation of a wide range of initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, improving citizens’ quality of life, and reinforcing real estate security through an integrated national digital management system—empowering stakeholders to benefit from it in making decisions and shaping appropriate policies.

With God’s blessing, the Survey and Land Registration Bureau will continue to move forward with determination and unity—as part of Team Bahrain—toward the future with confidence and stability, writing new chapters of success and prosperity. This reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to providing a secure legal and regulatory environment that supports sustainable development and the national economy as one of the key non-oil sectors. It also fulfills the vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, and the guidance and oversight of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.

In conclusion, I extend my sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to all the personnel of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau who continue to contribute with dedication and integrity to the development of government services, striving for excellence and leadership. They deserve all respect and recognition.
