10 February, 2014 Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) Obtains ISO Certification for IT Security
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) obtained ISO Certification 27001:2013 for IT Security Management from the German TUV NORD. IT Department at SLRB has met all the requirements and conditions required in accordance with the latest international standards in IT security technology. The aim is to protect all SLRB information from acts of piracy, leaks, hackers and other security threats.
This certification comes as result of the directives of SLRB President His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa on the need to ensure that the best methods and latest technologies are used to protect information, ensure that electronic systems are not compromised and provide the highest degree of protection to private and public information in the possession of SLRB.
His Excellency received the Director of Information Systems at SLRB Mr. Hamid Mohammed Abu Al-Fateh on Thursday 23rd February 2017 who presented him with the ISO certificate. His Excellency praised work of SLRB officials and staff in implementing the programs and policies needed to obtain such certification.
SLRB had in 2010 obtained the previous ISO certification (27001: 2005) for information security management. Obtaining the new version of the ISO certification reflects the continued adherence by SLRB to the latest standards and controls related to information security and that it keeps updating and developing its procedures.
