The SLRB participated in the "Land Registration Systems in the Arab World" Conference-Challenges and Aspirations,"  Held in the Dead Sea region in Jordan under the title "Towards a Safe and Realizable Ownership."

The SLRB was represented at the conference by HE Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of Human Resources and Finance and Mr. Ammar Al Khashram, Head of the Maps and Drawings Sections at the Directorate of Technical Affairs.

Shaikh Mohammed said the SLRB's participation took place upon instructions by Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in response to an invitation by Jordan. It reflects the SLRB's interest and keenness to follow up the latest land registration technologies and to keep abreast with modern day developments taking place globally."

Shaikh Mohammed said the conference highlighted land registration techniques and systems used in the Arab countries in terms  of problems and future planning, in addition to getting aquatinted with international experience in this field. The conference adopted recommendations aimed at improving performance, and this is what the SLRB aims to achieve in order to keep in step with modernization and improve performance to give satisfaction to citizens by protecting their properties and provide excellent services to them.

Shaikh Mohammed said: "The conference, which was attended by representatives from 24 Arab and foreign countries, in addition to Bahrain, discussed a number of topics, including: international experience in land registration, land registration systems in the Arab countries, modern technologies and applications and countries' aspirations and ambitions in this respect."

Shaikh Mohammed concluded: "The conference drew special importance by discussing different topics of high significance, which focused on an important issue, i.e. land registration and protection of lands and properties. The conference is considered a good opportunity to exchange the expertise of participating countries and exchange information between participating countries."

The SLRB was represented by Shaikh Mohammed on the first and second day of the conference by Shaikh Mohammed who presented a working paper about systems of land registration in the Arab countries which won the praise of other participants.

For his part, Shaikh Mohammed thanked HE Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the SLRB Head, for his encouragement and support for the SLRB's presence and participation in international forums related to land survey and registration.
