The SLRB has issued the first issue of Al Masaha Wal Aqar, which is a periodical publication prepared by the Public Relations and Information Section and it is the first newsletter issued by the SLRB and the Section.

The first page of the newsletter featured a message by HE Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the SLRB Head, praising the newsletter. The message states as follows:

"I'm highly pleased over the publication of the newsletter Al Masaha Wal Aqar, which is the first fruit of co-operation towards success, excellence and the SLRB's reputation of the SLRB, which is one of the most important service organizations in our beloved Kingdom."

The SLRB has witnessed a number of developments which covered many of the SLRB's sections, the last being turning the paper maps into electronic maps, in addition to the e-exchanges between the SLRB's sections and directorates. This will facilitate and speed up the completion of transactions for citizens. Development has also affected the staff, who participate in training courses from time to time, which enable them to provide excellent services for citizens."

In the editorial, the editorial committee said: "The newsletter is being published to maintain outreach with the SLRB's staff and to enhance their role by spreading their news and highlighting the services they provide to the society. The SLRB, after combining the Survey with the Land Registration, has now many functions, projects and services which must be highlighted and provided to the public. We will try through this newsletter to convey the message of our well-established bureau to the public and its contributions which will help document and notarize the properties of citizens and those dealing with it, as well as indirect contributions towards development of the country. By providing services to citizens and protecting land ownership, the SLRB contributes immensely towards economic development and urbanization and construction by protecting lands and properties."

The news letter features many sections, including the report about the actual financial results of the properties traded in the Kingdom during the first half of 2005, a coverage of the honouring ceremonies held to honour the SLRB's long serving employees, news about land registration and survey, a meeting with Mr. Yousif Al Ammari, Director of Technical Affairs. The newsletter also contains a legal article written by Mr. Abdul Zaher Nasser, the legal advisor to the SLRB Head, in addition to the section "From the Archives" which is a feature about the history of land registration. It also contains news about the employee's social life, and a separate page featuring an illustrated report about one of the heritage houses in Bahrain and another separate page for decrees and appointments in the SLRB, an information about the astronomical and geographical location of the Kingdom prepared by the Topographic Survey Directorate, in addition to other special features.
