10 September, 2026 As Part of Government Efforts to Enhance Service Quality and Re-engineer Processes, Survey and Land Registration Bureau Develops Property Registration Transaction Fee Calculator
As part of ongoing government efforts to enhance service quality and re-engineer processes, the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has developed Property Registration Transaction Fee Calculator, a new digital service that enables customers to determine the legally applicable fees for sale transactions based on the rates and regulations stipulated in the Property Registration Law. The service provides an indicative estimate of the applicable fees prior to submitting an application, thereby enhancing transparency and ensuring greater clarity throughout the process.
Under the enhanced service, beneficiaries can now calculate real estate registration fees electronically and instantly by entering the property value through the Survey and Land Registration Bureau’s website. Previously, verifying the applicable fees took approximately 20 to 30 minutes, requiring users to refer to the fee schedule and contact customer service to confirm the accuracy of the calculation.
When using the calculator, users are required to enter the actual value of the property based on its true market price. It should be noted that the fees displayed by the calculator are indicative and remain subject to review and verification by the relevant department to confirm the property value and the accuracy of the applicable fees before completing the payment and registration procedures.
The service enhancement also included standardising the information published across all service channels, as well as improving the user interface and experience and simplifying the process of obtaining information.
In this context, His Excellency Engineer Bassem bin Yacoub Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, affirmed that the development of the service forms part of the Bureau’s efforts to support the real estate sector and enhance the ecosystem of related services by facilitating procedures for individuals and institutions and shortening service completion times. This contributes to improving the efficiency of real estate transactions and providing beneficiaries with greater clarity regarding the applicable procedures.
The President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau added that the Bureau continues to regularly review and re-engineer its services in line with beneficiaries’ expectations, enhancing operational efficiency and maximising the use of digital solutions to provide services that are more accessible and effective.
It is worth noting that, as part of the ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published. Of these, 800 services have undergone development and re-engineering across various government sectors. These efforts have been based on suggestions and feedback received regarding government services through the National Suggestions and Complaints System “Tawasul,” investor feedback, and mystery shopper reports assessing government services. In addition, guidelines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) have been introduced, contributing to greater procedural efficiency, improved service quality, an enhanced beneficiary experience, and the advancement of the government’s digital transformation agenda.
