01 June, 2026 Survey and Land Registration Bureau reviews the Kingdom of Bahrain’s experience in land administration at the International Land Forum in the Russian Federation.
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau participated, by official invitation from the Government of the Republic of Mordovia in the Russian Federation, in the International Land Forum (MASTOR), with the participation of a group of experts, decision-makers, and representatives of government entities and international institutions specializing in land, development, investment, and geospatial technologies.
The Bureau presented the national experience in employing the land management system as one of the key enablers of sustainable development and enhancing the investment environment. This took place during the discussion session titled “Territory of Growth: Integrating Construction, Investment and International Practices,” where Engineer Abdulrahman Ali Shuwaithir, Director of the Survey Department, delivered a presentation entitled “Land Administration as Driver of Growth.”
The presentation addressed the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in utilizing land administration as one of the pillars supporting economic and urban development, through the provision of reliable real estate and spatial information, strengthening the protection of rights, and integrating systems and data in a way that enhances planning and decision-making efficiency and creates a more attractive investment environment.
He explained that the success of sustainable development is not only linked to projects and infrastructure, but also depends on the existence of a real estate and spatial information infrastructure characterized by accuracy, reliability, and transparency, which contributes to improving the efficiency of government services and enhancing the readiness of data supporting development.
The presentation also highlighted several aspects of the Bahraini experience in addressing challenges resulting from the rapid urban growth and the development of mixed-use and ownership projects, through the development of advanced real estate and spatial information systems that support decision-making, enhance land management efficiency, and contribute to achieving a balance between development requirements and resource sustainability.
The Bureau affirmed that this participation comes as part of its commitment to contributing to specialized international dialogues, strengthening capacity-building, and exchanging expertise and knowledge with relevant institutions and entities. This aims to expand international cooperation, enhance the readiness of the land and real estate sector to keep pace with future development requirements, and consolidate the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a leading destination in employing spatial data and digital solutions to support investment and sustainable development.
