Survey and Land Registration Bureau launches real estate registration, ownership transfer, and application status inquiry services via the National Portal bahrain.bh
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau has launched real estate registration, ownership transfer, and application status inquiry services through the National Portal bahrain.bh, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority. This step comes as part of efforts to unify government services on a single national platform and to support the implementation of the Government Program (2023–2026), particularly in the areas of service digitization and quality enhancement.
The Bureau explained that benefiting from the available services requires the use of the eKey and the enhanced eKey 2.0. The real estate registration and ownership transfer application service enables users to complete the required information and upload the necessary documents electronically with ease and security. Meanwhile, the inquiry service allows users to track the status of their applications, make amendments when needed, and pay fees electronically.
His Excellency Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, affirmed that launching these services through the National Portal represents a strategic step within the Bureau’s ongoing efforts to strengthen digital transformation and develop the service ecosystem. He noted that a package of development projects has been implemented during the current year, including upgrading digital infrastructure, enhancing the electronic workflow system and geographic systems, transitioning to electronic signatures, activating the Remote Customer Service Center, and strengthening integration with entities related to real estate registration processes.
He added that the Bureau is currently implementing the second phase of development projects aimed at enhancing connectivity with relevant government and private entities involved in real estate registration and ownership transfer. This includes unifying data, facilitating information exchange, and improving workflows to ensure the delivery of integrated, fast, and reliable services within a comprehensive digital government ecosystem.
Al Hamar pointed out that coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority contributed to ensuring a smooth transition of services and meeting technical and operational requirements, reflecting the commitment of government entities to providing innovative services that meet beneficiaries’ expectations.
He also noted that real estate registration services were first launched electronically via the Bureau’s website in 2020, enabling beneficiaries to complete their transactions without the need for in-person visits—an important milestone in the digital transformation journey. He highlighted that more than 26,000 registration applications were submitted through the Bureau’s website during 2025.
His Excellency emphasized that this step is part of an ongoing development plan aimed at enhancing the quality of real estate services, simplifying procedures, and strengthening integration among relevant entities, in line with the government’s direction toward building an advanced digital
