16 March, 2025 President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau: The Launch of the “Al-Munther” Satellite is a Milestone in Bahrain’s Contemporary History
His Excellency Eng. Basim Yacob Al Hamer, President of Survey and Land Registration Bureau, expressed his pride in the launch of the “Al-Munther” satellite, Bahrain’s first-ever satellite. He affirmed that this achievement marks a milestone in the contemporary history of the Kingdom of Bahrain and embodies the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, may God protect him, and the diligent follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, may God protect him.
His Excellency also commended the efforts of His Highness Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, in supporting this national project, which has positioned the Kingdom as a leader in the space sector.
In this regard, His Excellency Eng. Basim Yacob Al Hamer, President of Survey and Land Registration Bureau emphasized that the launch of “Al-Munther” reflects Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities and utilizing them for sustainable development. He highlighted that this achievement is a testament to the ability of Bahraini youth and their empowerment to excel on the international stage in the fields of technology and space. He further stated that the positive impact of this project will be evident through the use of satellite mapping and artificial intelligence applications across various sectors in Bahrain, particularly in the real estate sector. The images and data provided by “Al-Munther” can be leveraged to analyze changes in land use, track urban development, and monitor urban expansion. This will contribute to improving urban planning and land management with greater accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, it will facilitate the identification of future real estate project locations and assess the environmental impact of developments, thereby enhancing the sustainability of real estate growth.
