In an Effort to Enhance the Quality of Government Services
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau Announces the Launch of the Electronic Property Ownership Certificate for Real Estate Registration Applications

The Survey and Land Registration Bureau has announced the launch of the Electronic Property Ownership Certificate for all real estate registration applications. This is a significant step that reflects progress in the speed of completing real estate ownership procedures and the related government and banking transactions, aiming to enhance the quality of government services provided to citizens, residents, and investors.

The Bureau confirmed that the electronic property ownership certificate is one of the developmental initiatives that fall within the framework of offering modern, high-quality real estate services. This aims to provide an integrated digital environment that meets the demands of the real estate sector and satisfies customer needs.

The Bureau added that this electronic certificate contributes to accelerating the completion of many government and banking procedures that require the original property title document. Clients can now complete their transactions using this digital certificate, which is considered an official temporary statement and is not tradable. It is issued immediately after the required fee is paid. The client receives a text message containing a link to download the certificate, which includes a QR code that allows tracking of the document issuance process. The Bureau also noted that this service is expected to positively impact public trust—among individuals, companies, and banks—in the local real estate sector.

Regarding the features of this certificate, the Bureau explained that it meets the needs of the real estate sector and a wide range of citizens, residents, and investors both inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. It also significantly saves time and effort while safeguarding customer rights and adhering to World Bank standards for the real estate sector, thereby fostering a safe and attractive investment environment.

It was also noted that more than 10,000 clients have benefited from the electronic certificate since its pilot phase in September 2024. The launch was based on a comprehensive study of client needs and requirements, relying on survey results and user feedback. The Bureau affirmed the continued improvement and streamlining of procedures related to property registration to further enhance the real estate sector’s services.
