12 April, 2016 His Excellency the President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau Meets with the Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The President of the Survey and LandRegistration Bureau (SLRB) His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla bin HamadAl Khalifa, had a meeting in his office on Tuesday 23/07/2013 with the Chairman ofthe Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Dr. Essam bin AbdullahFakhro and members of the Real Estate Sector Committee of BCCI headed by Mr.Hassan Ibrahim Kamal.
The meeting reviewed a number of topicsrelated to the real estate sector and the needs of real estate businesses. Itwas agreed to have more joint coordination especially in terms of theexchanging of views, consultation prior to taking decisions that affect thesector and improving/ streamlining of procedures.
On this occasion, His Excellency thePresident of SLRB praised the outcome of the meeting, adding that some stepswill be taken to speed up the land registration process in line with thecurrent requirements of the real estate sector. He pointed to the manyaccomplishments that have been achieved in the recent past, the most importantof which was the promulgation of the new Land Registration Law which wasapproved by his Majesty the King and will take effect six months after the dateof its publication in the official Gazette, i.e. on 27th December 2013. He alsomentioned that SLRB has relocated to the new SLRB building which houses all thedepartments and sections of SLRB. Havingall the departments in one building will no doubt lead to improving andspeeding up of the workflow, procedures and the services offered by SLRB.
He added that SLRB is currently studyingthe establishment of a survey training Institute in cooperation with BritishOrdnance Survey to train SLRB employees on this important sector. HisExcellency further mentioned that one of the most important projects that SLRBis currently working on is the 3-D imaging project which will undoubtedly be ofgreat benefit to many government and non-government bodies by providing themwith accurate geographic/ spatial data to facilitate their work.
On his part, Dr. Essam bin Abdullah Fakhroexpressed his thanks to His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa forlistening to and supporting the views and proposals of the Committee especiallythose related to the participation in joint real estate committees. It wasagreed that holding such fruitful meetings would continue in the future for thebenefit of the economy in general and the real estate sector in particular.
