23 May, 2011 SLRB Uses RFID
Along with H. E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Atiyyah Al Khalifah, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and H .E. Shaikh Hammoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifah, Governor of the Capital, H. E. Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Head of Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB), has inaugurated RFID at SLRB. It is a sophisticated high-tech system that will control all transactions carried out by SLRB via automatic and swift recognition of all document locations as well as related stages and document cycle of registrations and other activities. It is expected to effect a qualitative transformation in government service quality.
RFID aims at cutting down clearance stages and speed up action via quality control, guarding against document loss and / or damage, and easy tracking of documents via automatic sensors and sophisticated computers. Depending on this system, auditors would be able to track their applications via the website or the SLRB customer care center.
SLRB head said,"This advancement confirm SLRB developmental policies to ensure information security, validity and swiftly automatic accessibility; thus enhancing administrative measures to offer advanced services to state bodies and authorities which would in turn attract investment and ensure its safety and sustainability with a view to coping with the Economic Vision 2030 of His Highness the Crown Prince, and to going in line with e-government."
With RFID so used, SLRB becomes the first governmental body in the Gulf and the Middle East to adopt it for purposes of document cycle control.
