20 April, 2010 His Excellency the President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau Receives the Winners of the Institute of Public Administration Award
SLRB President His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa received on Tuesday 12 January 2016 two SLRB teams who won the first prize of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Award for the best graduation project presented under an initiative to improve the standard of government services. This is the second time in a row that SLRB has won this award.
At the meeting, the first group, which participated in Batch (17) of the Induction Program for public sector employees, gave a brief presentation on their winning project titled "Raising Awareness of the Real Estate Registration Law". The project included a questionnaire prepared by the team to measure employees' awareness of the provisions of the real estate registration law, and suggested solutions and ideas to increase employee awareness of the law. His Excellency directed taking the necessary measures to organize awareness workshops to enhance awareness of employees, the public and all persons concerned in this regard. The winning team members were Eng. Mohammed Isa Al Noaimi, Eng. Khalifa Yousif Al Binali and Eng. Ghanim Ibrahim Al Rumaihi.
The second group, which participated in Batch (18) of the Induction Program for public sector employees, gave a brief presentation on their winning project "Conservation and Restoration of Maps". The project was based on the principle of strengthening cooperation and coordination between government agencies and ministries stipulated in Chapter Six of the Government Action Plan 2015-2018. This project was the outcome of fruitful cooperation with Shaikh Isa Cultural Center and resulted in the a saving of more than BD 1,890,000. This amount represents the contract value of this job if it were to be carried out by a specialized international company. It was the lowest bid received by the team during its search for the best offer in terms of price and quality of work. His Excellency SLRB President directed the team to continue working on the project and to overcome any obstacles that the team may face during the implementation of the project. The project which will undoubtedly contribute to the preservation of old documents and maps. Some of the maps date back to the 1920s and represent a heritage that needs to be passed on to future generations. The team members were Eng. Abdul Rahman Abdul Aziz Al Hajri, Eng. Fatima Mohammed Al Busmait and Eng. Bader Ali Al Lahdan.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa thanked the two teams, praised the efforts and achievements of the members of the teams and congratulated them on winning the award, which he considered an achievement not only for them but also for the Survey and Land Registration Bureau.
