01 April, 2010 Survey and Land Registration Bureau receives a delegation from Singapore
Manama- Survey and Land Registration Bureau:
HE Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Head of Survey and Land Registration Bureau received, on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009, at his office, a delegation from Surbana International Consultants Pte Ltd, Singapore. The delegations included Mr. Keng Liong Wong, Vice Chairman of Land Survey Department, Mr. Sy Seng Guan, Director of Land Survey Department, and Mr. Soh Ken Peng, General Surveyor of Singapore. HE welcomed the visiting delegation and praised the strategic relationship between the two countries. During the meeting, they discussed ways of joint cooperation and future plans between the two governments in the areas of survey .
The delegation met with His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of Human Resources and Information Systems and Mr. Naji Salem Sabt, General Director of Survey and discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the development of survey. During the meeting, Mr Soh Ken presented a brief history of land survey in Singapore and pointed out that the Survey and Land Registration in Singapore were combined under the umbrella of government and then combined in a competent single agency. He praised the experience of Bahrain in the establishment of a competent governmental survey and land registration authority. The visiting delegation expressed admiration for the level of services provided by the Bahrain’s Survey and Land Registration Bureau and its achievements in survey and land registration services.
In concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to cooperate in technical matters related to legislative amendments in survey and licenses granted to professional surveyors. Prospectively, cooperation will cover procedures and criteria of information transfer of real estate business and transactions through e-search.
At the end of the meeting, both parties praised the importance of the meeting and agreed to hold further meetings in 2010 to discuss further ways of development and exchange of experiences between the two countries in this area.
