SLRB Head HE Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received on 3 October 2005 a certificate and plaque in recognition of SLRB's excellence by completing the biggest electronic archive and its use of the largest database.

The certificate was presented to Shaikh Salman by Mr. Sameer Bin Makhloof, the Regional Manager of Microsoft in Bahrain, and Mr. Mohammed Al Qaed, Director of Computer Operations, at the Central Informatics Organization in the presence of Shaikh Abdul Rahman Bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Land Registration and Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of Human Resources and Finance, Mr. Yousuf Abdulla Al Ammari, Director of Technical Affairs and Mr. Yousif Ahmed Al Mahmeed, Acting Director of Public Relations and Information and representatives of the Information Systems Section.

The Director of Microsoft Company in Bahrain praised the great efforts made by the Technical Affairs Directorate in completing the electronic archive in which the largest database is being used, stressing the company's support for the e-government project in Bahrain.

The team in charge of entering the data (title registration data) started working on the project in February 2004 and completed it on 23 August 2005, which is a record period of time. Four million files have been completed, including the tabloids of 1980 until 2004 using the Structured Query Language (SQL).

The Technical Affairs Directorate has signed a co-operation agreement with Geomatic of Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research (BCSR) to implement the project of converting the paper maps into electronic. The project is considered a qualitative and important steps, because it will enable the SLRB to handle data and information smoothly and seamlessly, which will ensure providing faster and more efficient services to citizens.
