27 December, 2007 As a Sign of Gratitude and Loyalty to the Senior Management, 45 Employees of the Land Survey Directorate Work for One Week Without Salary
Forty five (45) staff of the Land Survey Directorate have put in overtime work without consideration in gratitude and loyalty to HE Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the SLRB Head. His Excellency honoured the staff of the Directorate by awarding them incentives and promotions.
Commenting on this distinguished work and its objective, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Ni'mah, Head of Office Survey, said after discussing the idea with Mr. Khalid Al Ansar, Director of the Land Survey Directorate, a recommendation was made to the SLRB Head who approved it, and that work immediately started after that.
Mr. Abdul Razzaq said the employees did not seek fame or money, but the gesture was only a gratitude to the SLRB Head and to offer services to the citizens. The idea was also an example of how to serve others, and that it is a way of encouraging staff to work hard and to motivate them to work as one team.
On the same occasion, Mr. Sameer Al Halooli, Head of the Detailed Survey Section at the Land Survey Directorate, commented: "In gratitude for the SLRB's senior management for its constant support, we decided to work for one week for no consideration for our overtime hours. The idea was welcomed with enthusiasm by the employees who worked each according to his circumstances and capabilities."
Commenting on the work carried out during this week, Al Halooli said: "We have completed 566 transactions for citizens and customers of the SLRB and accomplished 489 new files." He added: "The idea is commendable, and has many good implications, because it shows that our staff are ready to work hard for citizens and also to show loyalty and gratitude for the senior management which honoured us personally by the SLRB Head who awarded us incentives and promotions."
Meanwhile, Mr. Dawood Al Sayyed, Head of the Land Allocation at the Directorate, said: "The idea has been implemented for the first time at the SLRB and its results have been good, praise be to Allah. It is clear that the number of transactions completed during this month was more than the average, and this proves that the idea was successful and that the staff are enthusiastic to it."
