First Bahraini Named Among the Top 50 Global Geospatial Leaders to Watch in 2025
The international organization Geospatial World, one of the leading global entities in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and land administration, has named Eng. Abdulrahman Showaiter, Head of Survey Data and Development at the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, as the first Bahraini to be listed among the Top 50 Geospatial Leaders to Watch in 2025.
Eng. Showaiter was honored at an official ceremony held in Madrid, Spain, during the Geospatial World Forum, which brought together over 800 participants from 70 countries and featured 300 international speakers. His selection came in recognition of his notable contributions to leading several strategic projects in the fields of cadastral surveying and digital transformation — most notably the implementation of 3D cadastral registration concepts for the first time in Bahrain, his participation in developing the guidelines and regulations for gated communities, and his role in advancing spatial databases to enhance decision-making processes with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
On this occasion, Eng. Basim Yacob Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, received Eng. Abdulrahman Showaiter in his office to congratulate him on this outstanding achievement. He emphasized that this recognition reflects the leadership and potential of Bahraini talent, and their ability to accomplish remarkable milestones that elevate the Kingdom of Bahrain's profile in international forums.
He also affirmed that embracing innovation and technology in this field significantly enhances the sector’s readiness and efficiency in keeping pace with global transformations in land management and geospatial systems.
For his part, Eng. Abdulrahman Showaiter expressed his pride in representing the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of a team committed to development and smart transformation. He also extended his gratitude and appreciation to the President for his continued support, emphasizing that this honor represents global recognition of Bahrain’s growing prominence in the geospatial data sector.
