14 April, 2016 His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdullah: Real Estate Trading in the First Half of 2014 Exceeds BD 722 million
The President of Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said that trading in real estate in the Kingdom of Bahrain has witnessed a big jump in the first half of this year 2014. The total volume of trading in real estate reached BD 722,669,117 (Bahrain Dinars seven hundred twenty two million, six hundred sixty nine thousand, and one hundred and seventeen), which represents an increase of 44% compared to the first half of last year, 2013. This big jump is unprecedented compared to previous years. Meanwhile, the volume of trading in the second quarter of this year amounted to BD 378,310,885 (Bahrain Dinars three hundred seventy eight million, three hundred ten thousand and eight hundred eighty five), which represents an increase of 23% compared to last year 2013. Such increases are considered significant jumps compared to previous years.
His Excellency added that this growth reflects the positive economic climate in the Kingdom which instilled high confidence in real estate traders and investors in the Kingdom of Bahrain. These positive results have undoubtedly encouraged Gulf real estate investors to invest and trade in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Accordingly, real estate dealings by GCC nationals until the end of June of this year have increased by 139%, while dealings by foreign investors have also increased by 22%.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman stressed that these achievements were the result of government policies and measures as well as the adoption of modern management concepts that aim to achieve excellence and promote the concept of the state of law and institutions. The foundation of the concept the state of law and institutions was laid by the King of Bahrain His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the support of the Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
