The President of Survey and Land Registration Bureau His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa approved the "electronic title deed", which will be written and printed (processed) electronically.

On this occasion, His Excellency said that this procedure will no doubt contribute to reducing waiting/ processing times, especially that real estate transactions has now reached and amounted to unprecedented large numbers. He added that the electronic title deed will be operated in parallel with the old manual system which is based on the handwriting of title deeds, and then will gradually be switching to the electronic system alone. In this regard, His Excellency has stated on several occasions that the electronic title deed would be adopted during the year 2014.

 

His Excellency Shaikh Salman said that SLRB is engaged in a continuous process of development and modernization in order to meet the needs of trader/ investors in real estates and gain their satisfaction. With this in mind, an internal committee was set up to develop and simplify procedures and reduce waiting times. The development of these policies and procedures comes in response to and in implementation of the directives of His Majesty the King of Bahrain which treat the interests of citizens and encouraging investment as a top priority in the comprehensive development project of His Majesty the King.

The development of such policies also comes as a result of   the directives of the government of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister that aim to improve and develop the administration system and work processes in the state, and in implementation of the economic vision 2030 of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and First Deputy Prime Minister. The goal is to use the most advanced and modern technologies to facilitate the achievement of this promising 2030 vision.
