23 May, 2011 SLRB… First Governmental Entity to Receive RFID in Gulf and Middle East
H.E. Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Head of Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB), received Motorola Award in recognition of SLRB's excellence in being the first governmental entity in the Gulf Area and the Middle East to adopt the high-tech Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) to control document cycle.
"It is our pleasure to receive this world class award by such world class company. Much to our pride, we shall not stop short of any further advancements," said SLRB head, stressing that there are several key projects to be initiated shortly with a prime view to provide state-of-the-art governmental services that cope with e-government aspirations and the Economic Vision 2030.
Motorola CEO congratulated SLRB head for putting such high-tech system into action; a system that secured a leading place for Bahrain in the region. He also took pride in his company being a party to an achievement of this magnitude which aims at providing better services to individual and corporate users of SLRB services.
It is worth mentioning that Motorola is a leading international developer of communication and technology.It is based in Chicago, and has many offices worldwide.
SLRB adopted FRID last April. It is an high-tech system which controls all transactions run by SLRB via swift automatic identification of all measures and document locations, as well as phases and document cycle thereof during registration. Hence, it is expected to effect a qualitative transformation in service quality offered by the government.
