20 February, 2025 President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau: Launching the Private Notary Service is a Key Step in Supporting Digital Transformation Efforts in the Real Estate Sector
His Excellency Eng. Basim Yacob Al Hamer, President of Survey and Land Registration Bureau, affirmed that the digital transformation in delivering government services and simplifying real estate sector procedures reflects the government's commitment and support for this sector. It is considered one of the fundamental pillars contributing to the comprehensive development process witnessed by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the esteemed King of Bahrain—may God protect and preserve him—and with the continuous support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister—may God protect him.
His Excellency pointed out that the launch of an electronic service for private notaries to facilitate real estate sale procedures, following the approval of the Cabinet and under the implementation of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, represents a significant step in supporting digital transformation efforts. This initiative aligns with the broader objective of achieving sustainability in the real estate sector by streamlining real estate sale procedures and expediting transaction completion. He added that enabling electronic connectivity between all relevant government entities will ensure transactions are processed efficiently and swiftly, thereby enhancing competitiveness and strengthening Bahrain’s position as an attractive investment destination, thanks to its reliable environment and secure, streamlined procedures.
His Excellency further highlighted that this electronic service meets the expectations of stakeholders in the real estate sector by saving time, as notarial transactions can now be completed through private notaries within minutes, provided all necessary requirements are met. The service can be utilized without the need for in-person visits. Additionally, the service fosters trust among all parties involved through the option of video calls for identity verification of the requester. Clients can benefit from this service whether they are inside or outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, marking a qualitative leap in the level of government real estate services.
