President of SLRB: Private Survey Offices Achieve 71% Completion Rate for Transactions, Streamlining Workflow as Part of Comprehensive Digital Transformation
Manama, July 8 (BNA) – His Excellency Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB), confirmed a rise in the number of land survey transactions handled by the Bureau’s Land Survey Directorate, totaling 3,000 transactions between June of last year and June this year. This increase follows the delegation of full authority to private survey offices to process all stages of survey transactions.
The SLRB President emphasized that this development aligns with the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to enhance public-private partnerships and open broader avenues for diversifying the national economy, particularly through the real estate sector—one of the key contributors to the kingdom’s comprehensive development goals led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, and closely followed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.
Al Hamer explained that the share of completed transactions by private survey offices rose to 71%, up from 43% in just one year. This shift resulted in a 50% increase in transaction completion speed and a streamlined process that now involves only six steps—some of which are managed by the Land Survey Directorate itself. He noted that this transformation also contributed to a 28% increase in revenue for private survey companies, thanks to the reduced administrative cycle.
He added that involving the private sector through private survey offices in surveying operations reaffirms the government’s strong commitment to public-private partnerships, a cornerstone of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and a key pillar in achieving sustainable development goals. He highlighted the continued support and attention the real estate sector receives from the government, with the private sector playing a vital role as a primary partner in driving national development.
Al Hamer stated that the Bureau is currently exploring the expansion of private sector involvement to further improve procedures, enhance service quality, and accelerate delivery—aligned with the Government Action Plan (2023–2026) that focuses on delivering high-quality, competitive government services.
He also noted that the Bureau actively monitors and supports the performance of private survey companies while working to overcome any challenges they face. The Bureau has adopted international best practices in surveying, alongside advanced administrative procedures and modern electronic services. These efforts have increased the efficiency of private survey offices and eliminated the need for in-person visits, allowing services to be completed entirely online—from application to delivery—thus reinforcing operational excellence and driving comprehensive digital transformation by leveraging advanced technology across national initiatives and services.
