During an inspection tour to the Land Registration Department on the ground floor of the SLRB building, His Excellency was briefed on how new transactions are completed at the registration office without the need to go to other departments. His Excellency stressed upon the staff to ensure that there should be no electronic malfunctions that may cause delays to the customers. His Excellency said that we introduced this system to keep pace with the noticeable increase in the number of transactions processed by SLRB and to overcome the shortage in human resources. His Excellency added that SLRB is currently looking into providing other electronic services that will contribute to speeding up the pace of work. He added that thanks to this new system, a transfer of ownership transaction can currently be completed on the same day if the application is received and entered into the system before ten o'clock in the morning.
