His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB), Chairman of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and Honorary Chairman of Bahrain Property Development Association (BaPDA) received the Chairman of the Bahrain Property Development Association Engineer Arif Ahmed Hijris and a number of BaPDA members. His Excellency welcomed the members of BaPDA board of directors, praising their role and efforts in serving the real estate sector. He hailed the keenness of BaPDA and its members in the development of real estate projects. Their views and opinions help promote the interests of the sector and the speedy completion of projects. His Excellency said that despite the difficult global economic conditions, the real estate sector in Bahrain is stable and has achieved good successes. The measures and laws that have been introduced recently are a solid foundation upon which we can build more growth and a promising future. These achievements come in implementation of the aspirations and directives of His Majesty the King. His Excellency added that the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) is currently working on launching the data bank project. Making such a database available will no doubt help investors and developers of real estate projects in determining the most suitable type of investment in which they may prefer to invest.
His Excellency the President of SLRB stressed the important role of the private sector in revitalizing the economy, through taking part in the programs of the government of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, participation in boards of directors and benefiting from the business-friendly environment to play its role as a major non-oil contributor to the Bahraini economy. For these reasons, the Executive Committee headed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister pays special attention to the real estate sector.
BaPDA Chairman and board members briefed the President of SLRB on some ideas and opinions that they believe will contribute to promote property development activities, attract more investment and growth to the real estate sector, and expedite the completion of real estate and investment projects in the Kingdom. They also stressed the importance of marketing and promoting Bahrain as an attractive destination for real estate investments.
BaPDA members praised the recently introduced measures and procedures for processing land registration transactions, as well as the regulations introduced by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The new procedures and regulations aim to address the needs of real estate developers and overcome the obstacles that their businesses may face.
BaPDA Chairman Eng. Arif Hijris and board members thanked His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa for his support to the real estate sector and for introducing improvements at the legislative and organizational levels. They expressed their appreciation for the efficient work and efforts of the officials and staff of SLRB and RERA. They also praised the role, support and cooperation of RERA CEO Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa who is always in touch with real estate developers to keep them informed of developments and modernization of work procedures in RERA.
